Bihar se, ek non-IT background se
I'm Sharda. I'm from Bihar, 25 years old. I have 2 younger brothers, I am the elder one. My father is a farmer and my mother is a housewife.
I'm going to share my journey with you, coming from a non-IT background to IT.
Har raat main sochti thi, kya hoga
In 2020, I was in 3rd year of graduation. My family wanted me to get married. They were searching a groom for me.
In my family, we had lots of financial problems. My brother's studies, and other things. At the same time, they were also thinking about my marriage.
“Har raat main sochti thi, kya karoongi, success milegi ya nahi? Yeh sawaal 24x7 mere dimaag mein chalta rehta tha.”
Every night I used to think, what will I do, will I get success or not? This question used to run in my mind 24x7.
Support har taraf se
I got good advice from HVA and NavGurukul. Some of my friends also used to help me. They were guiding me well.
Mujhe har taraf se support mila, HyperVerge se bhi.
I got support from every side, including HyperVerge.
Full stack development, dono backend aur frontend karaaya gaya humein. Overall 2-3 projects kar li thi.
Full stack development, they taught us both backend and frontend. I completed 2-3 projects overall.
Uske baad phir company mein interview dene start ki, job ke liye.
After that, I started giving interviews at companies for a job.
The journey was not easy
Bahut saare interview deti thi. Kahin se yeh hota tha ki background BTech ka nahi hai, toh interview hi schedule nahi karte the. Kahin resume se hi reject kar dete the.
I gave so many interviews. At some places they would say, your background is not BTech, so they wouldn't even schedule the interview. At other places, they would reject me just from the resume.
“Lekin ek hope tha, ki agar itna aa gayi hoon, toh kuch na kuch toh kar hi loongi.”
But I had one hope, that if I have come this far, I will definitely do something.
Dimaag mein aisa tha, ki kuch na kuch toh karna hai. Kuch bhi ho jaaye.
My mind was set. I have to do something. Whatever happens.
Amdocs ka call
Bahut saari companies mein maine interview di thi. Phir Amdocs, ek MNC company, uska interview call aaya.
I had given interviews at many companies. Then Amdocs, an MNC, I got an interview call.
First interview, because of internet issue, poora nahi de paayi. Beech mein disconnect ho gaya tha. I was not feeling good at that time. Interview accha nahi gaya. Company acchi thi.
I couldn't complete the first interview because of an internet issue. It disconnected in the middle. I was not feeling good at that time. The interview didn't go well. But the company was good.
Ankan ne bola, reschedule karao
Phir maine yeh baat Ankan se, jo mere HVA mentor the, unse baat ki. Unhone bola, theek hai, unko bolo interview reschedule karne ko.
Then I spoke to Ankan, my HVA mentor, about this. He said, it's fine, ask them to reschedule the interview.
Maine Amdocs ko request ki, aur unhone reschedule kar diya.
I requested Amdocs, and they rescheduled it.
Jab interview reschedule hua, maine first round clear kiya. Second round was technical. I think the interviewer was a foreigner. They took my interview at night. It went well. They asked me about my projects, and I was able to answer everything.
Uske baad HR round hua. After that, I got the offer letter.
“Amdocs mein mera job lag gaya.”
I got the job at Amdocs.
Starting ke do mahine
When I joined the company, everyone on my project was a foreigner, out of India.
Starting ka 1st-2nd month toh matlab, sabka language samajhne mein hi lag gaye. Unka accent alag tha.
The first 1-2 months, I spent just trying to understand everyone's language. Their accent was different.
To be honest, mera English bhi utna achha nahi tha. Right now also I'm learning English. Dheere dheere sab kuch seekhti gayi. My teammates are also very supportive.
To be honest, my English wasn't that good either. Right now also I'm learning English. Slowly, I kept learning everything.
Aaj
Right now I don't have any pressure to get married. I take care of my family's responsibilities.
I am feeling very happy to take care of all this. I feel very proud that I am doing this.
It's not easy for me to get all these things. I cannot explain how much I struggled to get here. My family members, everyone is very happy at this position.
Many more things I want to do in my life. I will keep trying to improve myself in a better way.
Today, I'm a Software Developer at JPI Real Estate, a company based in Dallas Fort Worth.
